The stats are in for 2016, and People’s Law School is happy to report that we’re the #4 most popular producer of public legal education and information (PLEI) accessed through Clicklaw. Clicklaw is a window into PLEI from dozens of organizations across British Columbia and Canada. People’s Law School followed the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch, the Legal Services Society and the BC Ministry of Justice in terms of most views on its resources.
In addition, four People’s Law School Clicklaw Wikibook titles were in the top 10 of that site’s most viewed titles.
Balancing digital and print
This strong showing demonstrates the strength of our resources and People’s Law School’s success in working over recent years to balance print resources with digital offerings.
We use the word “balance” deliberately. We’re often asked, “Why sustain print publication in an increasingly digital world?” Our answer: each medium has its own advantages and appeals in different ways to different people. Our challenge is to best match the medium to the needs of the user of our information.
Let us know what you think
You can help us with this. Throughout the coming year, as we develop new and updated resources in web, print and live (our classes) formats, we’ll be asking for your feedback. Please take a moment to reply. “Getting to know you” will help us better serve you—in 2017 and beyond.
